HELLO I AM LOCAL
IN BRIEF
Hello I am Local is "the world's
most boutique hostel" says the website.
Everyone is welcome, from solo backpackers to families or
groups of friends.
No matter if you sleep in a dormitory, a private room or a
luxurious flat, everyone is warmly welcomed and feels comfortable at home.
When we arrive, we are not sure whether we are in a café, a bar, a shop or a small hotel. The atmosphere is relaxed, cosy and friendly, and the four corners of the hostel are filled with locally sourced trinkets.
Each room is unique and decorated with furniture designed by local interior design students. If you see little labels with prices on them, it's normal: most of the furniture is for sale.

THE HOST - THE SERVICE
Hello I am Local is the brainchild of owner Saskia, who asked herself the question: "Why can't we combine the relaxed atmosphere of a youth hostel with the service of a 5-star hotel? We were there at the reopening of the Covid-19 pandemic and enjoyed a service of a high quality: professional, attentive and personal.
The hostel also hosts events, be it team building, drinks with the Haarlem expats or dinners with the neighbours. If you want to organise something with a small group, don't hesitate to contact them directly. They are flexible and will be happy to accommodate you.

SUSTAINABILITY
During our stay, we paid attention to the origin of the products. From the cheese for breakfast, to the beer for the aperitif and then the free-range chicken for dinner, all the food came from local suppliers. As well as being local, it was simply delicious and generously served with love. Household products are eco-friendly and beauty products are filled from large bulk cans.

THE LITTLE EXTRA
Hello I am Local is growing. It's still in the same location but just a few square metres bigger. 7 large rooms will be added, a new bar and a new restaurant with a bigger courtyard.
