THE ATMOSPHERE
It is in the vibrant district of Brussels, between the Avenue Louise and les etangs d’Ixelles and its famous Place Flagey, that you will find this quiet and discreet little nest. After a year of renovation, this typically Brussels old mansion opens its doors in 2019, converted into a charming guesthouse. The preserved period mouldings blend with a minimalist and natural Scandinavian-inspired decoration. You'll be amazed from the moment you first step into this haven of peace: it's beautiful, calm and inspiring.
THE HOTEL
You will share the guest house with its owner and decorator, Claire Mondy, and her family. The entrance of the house opens directly onto the bright breakfast room, during the confinement transformed into an exhibition room of ceramics from students from La Cambre. This room then opens onto an open living space with a lounge, dining room, kitchen and garden. As the name "canopy" indicates, the three rooms are located in the roofs of the house, on the 3rd floor (no lift). The rooms are spacious and bright with decorative details in pastel tones.
THE SERVICE
There is a communal kitchen for 3 rooms. It is equipped with everything you need for a hot drink or to heat up a small prepared dish. Breakfast is served on the ground floor as a buffet where the vegetarian and vegan option is available. The jams are homemade, the bread and pastries come from La Fleur du Pain, which shows the concern for the quality of this generous breakfast. Quality can also be found in the Nordic brands of designer furniture (Hay, Ferm Living, House doctor, Hubsch, Gubi). There is no lunch or dinner option but don't worry, the area is full of restaurant bars.
THE HOST
We met the beautiful person behind this project, Claire Mondy. Under her various hats as owner and mistress of the premises, she is also an interior decorator. French by birth, she brings a pure Danish style that she was inspired by during her studies in Copenhagen.
