THE ATMOSPHERE

In a typical quaint street not far from the centre of Bruges, in the Saint-Gilles district, nestles the elegant building that houses the bed and breakfast "De Corenbloem". Gerrit and Corrina take care of the management of this charming bed and breakfast and kindly welcome us in this large house with the appearance of a small castle.

The house has been completely restored in the style of the period; a remarkable work done by Angèle Boddaert. Don't be impressed by the large hall you will enter through; it is just a place to pass through. But instead, let yourself be guided and tempted by the garden at the back of the house, which is accessible via a nice classic living room. It is a real haven of peace and quiet in the heart of the city. This one is at your entire disposal, you can simply walk around it, settle down at a table on the terrace or in the very pretty greenhouse. If we fell under the charm of this small corner of greenery and tranquillity upon our arrival, the visit of the rest of the house and its rooms also conquered us.

THE HOTEL

The origin of the name "de Corenbloem" refers to the cornflower, the name of an old hotel in the same street. Each of the 5 rooms is decorated differently and is described by the name it bears. They are decorated with finesse, variety, and charm. Only the bathrooms have a similar style which, for the most part, consists of a nice little free-standing bath and a walk-in shower. You will be delighted to discover that the skincare products available to you are from the brand L'Occitane.

As for the rooms, here's a small glimpse of our favorites:
The Boeketje room (The Bouquet), which was entirely hand-painted by Angèle Boddaert-Devletian. The beds seem very comfortable and the sheets are made of Egyptian cotton from the local brand Mirabel Sabblinck (http://www.shc.be/en/) (as in each of the rooms).
The Garden suite, as its name suggests, offers a view of the garden but not only that, it also has an elegant and spacious bathroom in soft tones and is covered with original flooring.
Our latest favourite is the sequel, Peer Gynt, whose name comes from Norwegian literature. It offers a four-poster bed in a cosy decor, one with electric blue walls, which gives it a vintage and lively art-deco style that we like very much.

THE service

Breakfast is included and varies according to your habits. Corrina and Gerrit adapt to your preferences and take care to serve you the breakfast you prefer. When the weather permits it is possible to have lunch in the garden. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Corinna and Gerrit are also at your disposal for your various questions as well as recommendations of activities that they can book for you on request.
