THE ATMOSPHERE

After crossing the pretty village of Taviet, near Dinant, we discovered the pretty Ry farm in a rural setting, and were greeted by birdsong. The square stone farmhouse is surrounded by a beautiful courtyard. The barn doors and stables are painted with green and white lines, adding charm to the typical Condroz decor.
Further ahead, there were horses that kept us company during our visit (don't worry, they are friendly and in a pen).

THE HOTEL

The bubble awaited us at the top of the property (stilettos are not recommended - you’ll see why!), surrounded by a pretty wooden log fence. It felt like entering our own little garden, our only neighbours being the horses in their paddocks. The interior of the bubble is simple and pretty, containing a bed, toilet and sink, what more do you need?

THE service

Adding a little extra romance to your stay, the generous optional breakfast (€30 for 2) will delight your taste buds: eggs from the farm’s chickens, homemade jam, yoghurt, granola, fruit, bread, croissants, baguettes and if you're lucky, pancakes or crepes. The food offering varies with the seasons and local production.
 If a generous breakfast is offered, the reservation does not include dinner. But don’t worry, the area is full of good food, the hosts recommended 2 restaurants in close proximity: L'orée du goût and l’hostellerie gilain which has a Michelin star. 

If you are looking for a personalised, romantic experience, a selection of wines and a bottle of champagne are also available on request.

THE HOsts

We were shown round by the hosts, Edouard and Alix, a young, dynamic and authentic couple, just like their farm. As soon as they moved to the farm over a year and a half ago, they thought about inviting guests. The building of the lodge and the installation of the bubble marks the beginning of the "Ry farm, rural life".

Living on the farm means living according to the seasons and off the generosity of the land.  
We were lucky to discover the farm’s garden where there are chickens, Mechelen cuckoos, runner ducks and a vegetable garden. Alix and Edouard will share their harvest with you as soon as possible, which is why breakfast varies according to the season.
