MAISON ALBERT
IN BRIEF
Since the summer of 2017, the beautiful Albert House and holiday rental in Nieuwpoort has been welcoming groups and families. Ideally located for weekends or holidays by the sea at the Belgian coast.
The house is a 20-minute walk from their beach cabin and is not far from the small city centre of Nieuwpoort filled with shops and restaurants.
In total, the house can accommodate 18 people: 5 comfortable and modern double rooms with en-suite bathroom and a dormitory with 4 single beds (+4 beds for children).
THE HOST - THE SERVICE
Goedele and Stefan have always dreamed of having a family holiday home in this place they cherish so much. Inside, it's clean, modern and relatively raw. There is concrete on the floor and wooden planks against the wall.
As for service, there are many recommended and arranged options for cooking, breakfast, boating and cycling, etc. For a home chef, Goedele suggests Evy's Flavour or Het Bord van Jana.
SUSTAINABILITY
During our visit, we asked Gudula what they do for the environment and whether they take this into account when running their house.
They have recently renovated the house and as a result have taken care to use noble and sustainable materials and energy management.
However, we feel that there is certainly room for improvement in the future.
THE LITTLE EXTRA
What we loved most of all was the large bay window that opens up completely in an L-shape and looks out onto the small inner courtyard of the house.
It feels like you are sitting on a terrace while lying on your sofa or cooking in the fully equipped kitchen.
