AMUSE-COUCHE
Unique getaway: Sleep in an old Gin Distillery in the Belgian countryside next to Hasselt
THE ATMOSPHERE
Amuse-couche is situated near the City of Hasselt, at the end of a beautiful countryside road. You won't be able to miss it, it is located in an old Gin distillery (Gin Claes) whose chimney is visible from the road.
It is in a countryside setting that we discover this ruin transformed into a charming hotel. The soul and the structure of the building have been preserved and give it this raw and pure aspect.
THE HOTEL
The bed and breakfast offers 4 large rooms and a bright breakfast room.
The whole is very harmonious, all the walls are painted in white tones to which are added the colourful notes of the chosen furniture. The owners have transformed it while keeping its original structure, generous in volume and luminosity. Its high ceilings and large windows add a certain elegance to the converted building. Stefan, the husband of Jessy, the host, is a painter and definitely added his touch. You will find it in the rooms.
For the record, the hotel's name, "amuse-couche" comes from the word "amuse-bouche". The unexpected pleasure of having an amuse-bouche in a restaurant applies to this guest room. Jessy also recommends a good gastro table in Hasselt, the Ansoler.
