THE ATMOSPHERE

At the crossroads of country lanes is L'Air du Temps, known for its gastronomic table and its two stars in the Michelin guide. It is a pretty and modern white square farmhouse surrounded by 5 hectares of gardens, vegetable garden and greenhouses. It is there that all the ingredients used in the kitchen are grown . At l'Air du Temps, it is nature that decides and everything works to the rhythm of the seasons. Sang Hoon Degeimbre, the restaurant's starred chef, makes us discover in a sensational way the world of tomorrow while respecting rural traditions.  

THE HOTEL

Although the restaurant has been a hit since 1997, it only moved to this corner of paradise at the end of 2012 with the idea of turning it into a hotel. The first 5 rooms, located above the restaurant, opened in May 2013. In Scandinavian style, the pretty and spacious rooms overlook the garden and vegetable garden. But 5 rooms was not enough, a few years later new rooms appeared in a completely different style, overlooking the courtyard or the countryside. The former barn of the farmhouse has been completely transformed by the Exsud architectural office into the hotel reception and the 6 modern rooms. An annex of similar design was added to the restaurant.

THE service

Only guests of the restaurant are allowed to sleep in the hotel's rooms. There are attractive price packages (dinner, room and breakfast) for the week and the weekend. At l'Air du Temps, everything is of high quality. “Hay”, The Danish furniture brand and the ecological cosmetics "Parfum d'ici" to name but a few. The breakfast,open to the public, offers a variety of home-made products (breads, pastries, hams, jams, etc). Bicycles are also available for guests to ride along the charming country lanes of the region. 

THE HOsts

Unfortunately we were not able to meet the chef in person. However, every member of staff with whom we interacted was very helpful and friendly. 

SUSTAINABILITY

We felt a real environmental awareness through the kitchen. "Everything has to be reused, no waste here!", they whispered during the visit. Any leftovers are transformed and used to make, for example, vegetable pickles and fermentation. Attention is paid to the use of cleaning products as well as in the products offered directly to the guests such as 100% biodegradable Liège coffee in the rooms, natural wine and organic cosmetics.  

THE little extra     

Our favourite is certainly the setting of the farm. To be able to admire the fruit and vegetables, from the vegetable garden and greenhouses, spread out in the garden while sipping homemade flavoured water, is just divine!
